Book Review: Matched by Ally Condie

Hello!
So for my next post I am writing a book review! The book I am reading right now is Matched by Ally Condie. It is set in the future and our protagonist is Cassia. The world is really interesting and almost made me believe our world could turn into something similar in the future.

The book starts off with Cassia attending the Match banquet because in this world everyone who would like to be is 'matched' which means the society chooses who they marry. Cassia's match turns out to be Xander, her best friend but for a moment the face of another boy turns up and of course...the love triangle appears!

I'm not going to spoil the rest of the book for you but at first first I thought Matched would be another typical dystopian story. However the world is really believable and some parts made me really sad because it made me believe that I could live in a world where everything is controlled to the last tiny detail.

Overall this book was quite similar to other Young Adult dystopian books like Delirium by Lauren Oliver but it really made me think. It dragged a bit in a few places but it was quite easy to read and I think I would give it a 7.5/10. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a dystopian book that hasn't read too many other books in this crowded genre.

Bye!

Movie Marathon

Hey!

Today Susan and I had a movie marathon, though we only watched 2 movies. We watched 'Enchanted' and 'A Cinderella Story'! If you haven' t watched these movies before then I highly recommend them.

Basically the point of this post is that I vouch for 'A Cinderella Story' and Susan 'Enchanted'. It is a bit like a debate. I point out the good points of my movie and the bad points of hers, and vice versa.
Oh and by the way, K stands for me (Kelly) and S stands for Susan.

Let the debate begin!

S - Enchanted has animation and real people in it.

K - A Cinderella Story has really good actors in it, for example Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray!

S - It has variety of different clothing from different times and it has a cool dragon in it.

K- A Cinderella Story had inspiring quotes and people, e.g "Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game."

S -Both movie were good but I preferred Enchanted

K - A Cinderella Story is a lot more closer to reality than Enchanted, so it could actually happen to you in real life!

S -

K - Enchanted focuses most on romance, but A Cinderella Story has many points that it covers. Romance, bullying, family relationships and more! It's really one of the best movies ever.

So you decide which movie is better! After watching both of them, of course.
Thanks for reading, bye!

Book Review: one-way ticket by Iona McNaughton

Hi guys, it's me Shams,
Today I'm going to do a book review on one-way ticket by Iona McNaughton. So I've read this book 3 times because it's really good.

So basically this book is about a girl called Meg. She was born and lives in Canada, but after her mum died, her dad started think about moving back to New Zealand. After 3 year Meg's granparents bought them one-way tickets to New Zealand. Meg had not agreed to this at all and she went to her best friend for advice. After a lot of persuading from her friends mum and seeing her sad father wishing that they can go to New Zealand. Meg agreed that she would go but only for 6 months.
When Meg goes to school in New Zealand, she makes a friend called Alice, but is she really a friend?
Read the book to find out.

I just don't like how they said that New Zealand is a really small country and they would never live there, only the weird people live there. Just to let you know New Zealand is an amazing country, and we're not weird people.

Bye Guys xx
Shams

Book Review by Doris

I'm doing a book review this week. The book of the week is...

GEEK GIRL!

By Holly Smale

The story is about a girl called Harriet Manners. She is a geek and she has a BFF called Natalie (Nat).
Natalie wants to be a model. Somehow Harriet got unexpectedly spotted by a modelling agency. But clearly she knows absolutely nothing about modelling. On a 3 day modelling journey to Russia, heaps of things happen. What is she going to do?

One problem of the book is that you might also be thinking that it is impossible for a 15 year old to get spotted by a modelling agency. Well it is possible cause this is the story of the author Holly Smales. (who knows if it's true or not) This is the first book of the Geek girl series. There is also 2nd book: Model Misfit, 3rd book: Picture Perfect, and the 4th book: All That Glitters. Be sure to read all of them!

Not spoiling it for you anymore!

Me

Hi guys, it's me Shams,
So I like air conditioners because they are the best. I am a girl, obviously. My favourite colour is mint green and light blue. I love the ocean, it's just nice and blue and cool. I go to school and I'm in the same class as the other girls in this blog. This blog is like a class project, but we might continue blogging on here after school finishes. Some people say I'm shy, and they say that I don't participate in school, so this year I'm trying out for almost every sport in school. I hope you learnt a few things about me
Talk to you later,
Bye!

Kelly ^_^

Hello!

It's my turn to do a blog post, but I don't know what to write so this is just an introductory post.
So here goes.
I'm Kelly! Out of us 5, I'm the shortest one, although I am not the youngest.
I like to read. A lot. I also like to play sports even though I am not the best at it. I absolutely HATE maths, and I very much dislike school as well. I also love YouTube. YouTube is love, YouTube is life :).
I have 2 older sisters and a younger brother who is super annoying, but I love them all to death, including my parents and of course my adorable dog, Trixie!
Well, I guess this is all.

Thanks for reading,
Kelly xx
